June Learner of the Month

Etsuko was selected for her outstanding commitment to learning, demonstrated through her consistent attendance, active participation, and the thoughtful knowledge and stories she shares with fellow participants. She is a dedicated learner and a proud mother to a 14-year-old daughter.

Throughout the session, Etsuko has shown notable progress in her reading, pronunciation, and communication skills. She is a conscientious learner who takes initiative - regularly taking notes and asking insightful questions. Her positive attitude and warm personality make her a joy to have in the program.

We’re so proud to recognize Etsuko as our Learner of the Month!

A Look Back at Our Program Year

As we wrap up another incredible year of CFL programs, we’re filled with gratitude for the powerful stories and lasting impact our learners have shared. Our Learner of the Month initiative has been a true highlight, and we’re already looking forward to its return in the upcoming program year.

This past year, we’ve witnessed countless empowering moments - strengthening families, boosting adult confidence, and nurturing essential skills in children through family literacy.

We hope you enjoy a joyful and refreshing summer. We’re excited to kick off another meaningful year this fall - so until then, take care, soak up the sun, and we’ll leaf you with this: see you in the fall!

Play It Forward Sale

It’s been just over a year since we moved into our new office and said goodbye to our beloved C.O.W. Bus program. With these exciting changes, we’ve uncovered some wonderful educational materials we’re no longer using - and now, we’d love to Play It Forward.

Join us at our office on July 16 and 17 to browse through a variety of learning resources perfect for use at home, in preschools, kindergarten classrooms, or daycare settings. Take what you need - and give what you can.
Here’s how you can donate:
• Make a digital donation through our online donation portal.
• Cash donations are welcome - please bring the exact amount, as we won’t have change on site.
• Charitable tax receipts are available for donations of $20 or more.

Let’s give these materials a second life and continue to support children’s learning together!

An Evening of Wine & Words 2025: A Truly Unforgettable Night

What a night to remember! We are overflowing with appreciation for the incredible support shown during our annual fundraiser, An Evening of Wine & Words. Your enthusiasm and generosity made the evening truly special, and thanks to your generosity, this year we raised over $164,000 - bringing the event total to almost $1.5 million.

To all of our sponsors and performers, everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and supported us - thank you! Your contributions have helped us raise vital funds to continue our mission.

This conference is just the start.
It’s meant to ignite conversations that won’t end when the event does.
