C.O.W. Bus Book Lending
At the time of this writing, we have had our C.O.W. Bus lending books out to families in our program for 3 weeks. So far we have borrowed 37 books out to families and we are looking forward to seeing more people join us! It feels great to see the joy of finding the next great book to read on children's faces once again.

COW Corner Program takes place from 9:30 - 10:30 AM on Fridays, April 14 to June 23, 2023. Come early (9:00 - 9:30 am) OR visit after (10:30 - 11:00 am) to choose your books. Each family will receive a free bag to keep their books in.

Attending the C.O.W. Corner program is not necessary to borrow books.

Looking Back on National Volunteer Week 2023
Thanks to all who celebrated National Volunteer Week with us! We had so much fun at our Virtual Volunteer Meetup where we got a chance to connect with some of our volunteers and announced our new Volunteer Zone - a Google Drive filled with professional development opportunities and resources to support our volunteers.

Mother's Day Gift Idea

Canadian Children's Book Week

Canadian Children's Book Week celebrates, encourages and supports the reading, writing, illustrating and publishing of Canadian books for young readers.

We asked our staff to share their favourite children's books by Canadian authors, here's what they recommended:
Kristin:
Lost in the Barrens by Farley Mowat

This is a story about two boys that find themselves on a journey of survival in the arctic plains of Canada. It is a book I loved as a child and one that my son also loves! It is full of adventure, suspense, excitement and is SO hard to put down once you start reading! Anyone who enjoys stories of wilderness survival will love this book!
Genevieve:

We're Different, We're the Same (Sesame Street) by Bobbi Jane Kates.

This book is all about how our bodies are different and how they are the same, and about all the wonderful things our bodies do for us. This book is a great body positivity book that shows diversity in an accessible and colourful way. 
Lisa:

Picturescape by Elisa Gutierrez

This wordless book features a young boy's trip to the art gallery. His imagination takes flight into the wonder and magic of great 20th century paintings. His panoramic journey transports him from the West Coast to the Maritimes, travelling through landscapes painted by some of the best-known Canadian artists. Full of wonder, this book encourages the magic of storytelling.
