Winter Programs 2024
Continuing to offer quality programs in a hybrid format (both online and in person) is another way the Centre for Family Literacy listens.
We asked our families and our partners for what works best for them. We collected feedback from responses and made our programs flexible to reflect the information we collected. Check out some of the comments from our families!
“The program we participated in is great for so many reasons, but one of them that others may not be so aware of is that it takes away from screen time - which is great! It is a bonding time for my daughter and me. It is great for the kids but for us adults as well. Because this is funded, we can all be here.  It is important for the kids to have a chance to think and answer questions. They gain a sense of self confidence through all of that.”

“I stumbled upon the ZOOM classes that were being offered by CFL - and our first thought was, WOW THIS IS AMAZING. What stood out for me with CFL were the instructors - they simply are great at what they do, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy the work they do. The zoom classes were engaging, dynamic (never the same from class to class) and fun - which can sometimes be challenging (online).”

Basic Digital Skills Program
We are having fun with the Basic Digital Skills program! It is so good to be back in person, but also get the opportunity to practice these skills online as well. This hybrid program is for any adult who would like to brush up on some skills and learn how to use technology to work smarter for them! We have 3 more weeks of in person learning scheduled and 4 more weeks of online learning in the winter session. The topics are on the link below, join us and bring a friend!

Lois Hole Memorial Literacy Awards 2024: Call for Nominations
The Lois Hole Awards, established by the Centre for Family Literacy, aim to recognize individuals, families, organizations, or businesses demonstrating a dedicated commitment to family literacy. The awards bear the name of the late Honourable Dr. Lois Hole, the Centre’s Honorary Patron.

We are inviting you to submit your nominations for Lois Hole Memorial Awards 2024 - for Community Leadership Award. Nominees for this award should have showcased a consistent dedication to family literacy through their efforts.

All nomination materials must be received by the Centre for Family Literacy by Friday, March 15, 2024 at 4:00 pm.
