For 25 years, we've been committed to changing lives through literacy, empowering families, and nurturing a passion for reading and learning. As we reflect on our achievements over the past quarter-century, we eagerly look ahead to the next 25 years, continuing our mission to support literacy in our communities.

We are excited to introduce Learner of the Month, a new initiative to recognize and celebrate our incredible learners and the amazing progress they are making. Every month, we will highlight someone who has demonstrated dedication, growth, and a passion for learning.

Darlene is an outstanding learner and a devoted grandmother who goes above and beyond to support her grandchildren’s learning. Darlene fully participates in our programs, always engaging with others and fostering a welcoming environment. She is often the first to arrive and the last to leave - not just because she and her grandsons help clean up, but also because she loves connecting with the community.

Beyond our programs, Darlene started her own playgroup in her community, booking a local community hall, gathering resources, and spreading the word. She integrates ideas and materials from our programs into her own, reinforcing the joy of reading and learning. And she’s not stopping there - Darlene is also launching a drama group for kids, ensuring accessibility by keeping costs low and securing a volunteer drama teacher.

We are so proud of Darlene and the incredible impact she is making. It’s inspiring to see her passion for creating new opportunities for learning in her community. Congratulations, Darlene!
